The 7th International Symposium on Road Vehicles Functional Safety Standards and Its Application (2019)

BACKGROUNDS

 

Intelligent and Connected Vehicle (ICV) has become an inevitable trend for the automotive industry. Most countries take ICV as a strategic focus to accelerate the promotion by technology research, pilot demonstration, standards and regulations, and government policy. At present, there are 20 demonstration zones with 63 licenses released for autonomous vehicle testing in China.

Function Safety and Safety of the Intended Functionality (SOTIF) as the key technology to achieve the autopilot has become the world consensus. China government focusing on the China target market issued a series of strategic policies, such as "Medium and long-term development plan of automotive industry" and " Specification of Road Test Management for Intelligent and Connected Vehicle (ICV) ", to accumulate the database of vehicle dynamic control metrics, driving scenarios, HMI for functional safety and SOTIF development at vehicle level, E/E system level and HW/SW level.

As the Secretariat of National Technical Committee of Auto Standardization, China Automotive Technology & Research Center Co.,Ltd (CATARC) released the national standard GB/T34590 which is based on ISO26262, and is developing the EPS, ESC, Powertrain, BMS, MCU, ADAS, Autopilot system and SOTIF related national standards.

TARGETS OF SYMPOSIUM

  1. Progress and planning of functional safety standardization work for road vehicles in China;
  1. Government policy and specification of Road Test Management for ICV in China;
  1. Promote functional safety and SOTIF practice in auto industry;
  1. Exchange views and idea of ISO26262, SOTIF, STPA knowledge and expertise;
  1. Expand functional safety and SOTIF business contacts in China market.

POSSIBLE SYMPOSIUM TOPICS

    1. Progress and planning of functional safety standardization work for road vehicles in China.
    1. Application of Safety of the Intended Functionality (SOTIF) technology in autonomous vehicle.
    1. Application of Functional Safety technology in New Energy Vehicle (BMS, MCU, VCU).

    1. Verification and Validation (V&V) of Functional Safety and SOTIF.
